Sunday afternoon, May 26th, Star of Kings

Will Pease
Sunday afternoons we’re at The Star of Kings and this Sunday we kicked things off with some hilarity thanks to Thomas Round who’s from da Holland Park ghetto, fam. Next was Barbara Fernandez and how to sing your way to love one shovel full at a time. It was then over to Will Pease (pictured) and Putin pleasing, pyjama wearing, playful knot nonsense. We then had Olly Miller who reckons he should smoke less weed, which is odd as we all felt he was clearly in need of one. Seraj Alijan the confessed being his family’s guinea pig, aka as the first born. After sera was Neil Ben and everything from puberty to Dick pics and throw away jokes. The magical Adam B was next with the nerdery of card counting before Tony Carr closed the afternoon’s first half with some tips on sending old school dic pics and why spunk has rebranded.
After the break, and a bit of spooky magic, we swapped MCs and Calvin Smith took over. The first act Calvin brought to the stage was Tiger and how you can tell the difference between a panic attack and actually dying: no one does a eulogy for a panic attack. It was the over to Steve Anderson and the problems with bee homophobia before Nasif Akhtar explained how India has long since perfected the quickie wardrobe. Next was Alex Priestley and her completely natural obsession with ghosts before Alex Taylor told us how to discover who your true besties are: bleach your hair! The hilarious Travis Booth-Millard was next with some great tips on how to protect yourself from potential muggings. Simon Sharman the told us why he is a blue badge holder on the grounds of his Northern diet. The afternoon’s penultimate act was Neil Davies (who seems to have pulled with some of the ladies according to Calvin). When Neil turned 70 his bucket list was to try either comedy or internet dating. Comedy was the easier. Closing the show was the brilliant Mj Hunter. Turns out MJ can’t resist a resting homicidal mania face and reckons he’s definitely getting better at the sex, thanks to Google.
So that was another fun Sunday. Headlining next Sunday we have Declan Evans & Jack Scullion.
