Sunday afternoon, August 6th, Star of Kings

Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings kicked off with the hilarious Matt Withers, who’s really not that fond of the bagpipes. There’s no accounting for taste! Seraj Alijan was next with news that he lost quite a bit of weight during lockdown and discovered quite a bit of sex after. It was then over to Phoebe Taylor who as a Gen Z worries that her generation has the alphabet’s final letter. Is there nothing after them? It was then over to Jamie Henderson who was raised by a caveman with an impressive cowboy boot collection. Nathan Good managed to keep it legal by not officially mentioning his ex before Joey Abels hit us with puns, limericks and the going rate to buy a bus. Closing the first half was the brilliant Louie Mclean, who thanks to his new video doorbell had the privilege of watching his house being burgled live.
After the break, and a little but if hypnosis that took Felix back to his first love, we got off to a cracking start with Donatas Staneika and just what was sacrificed to get Thriller to the top of the charts. Next was Bethany Dawson and when is a sharps bin not sexy: always! It was then over to Arthur Mitchell who has cracked the gourmet code for the pot Noodle: add boiling water. After Arthur was Rainey Reiki who had some great tips on keeping ‘hydrated’. It was then over to Phillip Reiss who lives in Slough, the geographic equivalent of owning a Skoda. It was then the turn of Mark Vincent who recently overheard someone saying of him: “I’m not mugging that!” The afternoon’s penultimate act was Felix Parkin who continued his earlier reminiscing without the flame under his hand. Closing the show we had Neil Ben with high diving, throw away gagging and prop puns and chaos.
So that was Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Sunday we have Aimee Cooper and Ben Adams.
