Thursday night at The Royal George was a really fun show. First to the stage was the hilarious Mj Hunter. MJ recently Googled how to be better at the sex thing. Well, research is everything. It was then over to Claire Hutchison and horses, cum faces and soft boys. After Claire we had Fred Dent who reckons everyone’s gay in Southern Europe…it’s the heat. Sophie Bing was next with just why being sporty might not be her thing. After Sophie was Tony Carr and just why the term a dog’s life is a bit of a misnomer. It was then over to Declan Evans, a comic whose nan you really don’t want to see in an audience. Caryn Cobersy was next with sad showing in a SAD shop before Mark Vincent explained just why LMAO has a very different meaning to the over 50’s. It was then over to Phillip Cornwall, the buzz word guru with the thought wrangled synergistic MMD. Closing the first half was Matt Smith…or was it cake? Matt can’t wait to get to Vegas so he can get as far away from it as possible.
After the break we got off to a flying start thanks to G&B’s poet laureate, the brilliant Jack Scullion and performance poetry as only he can deliver. Graduate of the school of hard knocks, Ricky Baker, then hit us with some one liner and puns before Alex Priestley (pictured) confessed to being a bit of an addict for a red flag. The one and only Mr Punman, Mark Rivlin, was next with his trademark rapid fire punnery. Paul Little was the evening’s penultimate act and he told us just how much he has to live for…mainly haircuts. Closing the show was the brilliant John Pape and everything from Harry Styles to snagged bollocks and Saturday carton club rejections.
