Rotisserie chicken aka Moss
July 15th at The Bell turned out to be a busy, fun evening. Lucy Jenner kicked things off with the Glee of coming out. It was then over to Mani Ahmed and the joys of getting punched up. Next was our current New act winner, the hilarious Nick Morey and how to get through your performance review without crying. After Nick was Susan Heather Kitcatt and the things you should never tell your insurance company. It was then the turn of Amber Phillips, who during her set discovered the other half of her brain in the crowd. Next was Tony Carr, who reckons any porn movie he did now might be a flop. Hot on Ton’t heels was Barbora Beránková and why being a supply teacher is a bit more full on than expected. We then had Jim Hooker, a man with an overachieving family; his nan once won the Grand national…don’t ask how! Closing the first half was Chiff Powell and his likes and dislikes: mainly films and himself, which is code for his therapist is buying a new Mercedes.
After the brea, and handing MC duties over to Martin Ashworth, we got off to a great start thanks to Nick Bain and how to tell if you’re really a closet gay. Next was James Allen and the ferret show that scarred his childhood. It was then over to Rosie G and the talking finger with the sexual wisdom beyond its years. Luisa Coelho da Silva then told us that she’s financially dynamic, aka broke. It was then over to Luke Ditchfield who’s trying to popularise the Domestos bath bomb. After Luke was Tony Matthews and the declaration of undying love and unity that is America’s Declaration of Independence. Charlie Firth was next with why crowd work isn’t for him: he just has too much respect for your mum. Our penultimate act was Aarian Mehrabani, a man who’s a bit of an international player. Closing the show was Moss, aka James Watkins The Rotisserie Chicken (pictured). There’s no way to describe what we experienced here, so just grab the chance to see this little bundle of crazy and time you can.
