G&B Sunday afternoons at The Star of Kings

It was a busy Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings for us with the show immediately after our Everything but the Gags workshop. First to the stage was the hilarious Seraj Alijan and the single use bags you don’t want. Harry Legge then gave us the concept of Barbie-queuing barbecues before Peter Withers explained just why he rocked hot pants at age 7. It was then the turn of Liz Easter and the vegan’s steak and blowjob day: tofu and tit wank. After Liz was James Onionz, who bought an entire wardrobe of black, smiling clothes…because it’s cheaper and easier than getting a gym membership. David Robinson then explained the joys of the non-competative fun run before Andrew Fox gave us the news that Mexican muggers may be the politest in the world. Stephen Portlock then assured us that some things are definitely not wasted on a blind man before Joey Abels showed just what sort of transport bargain 50p gets you. We then had Calvin Smith and the Harley haemorrhoidal rings. The final act of the first half was the hilarious Raj Kukadia and just why cricket claps can’t compete with football chants.
The afternoon’s second half kicked off with a little titular card trick before I handed over to guest MC Steven Mayne. Steven then brought us the powerhouse of punnery that is Mark Rivlin. Mark, on cracking form, told us he recently had a crap in prison. It’s always been on his bucket list. After mark was Gabriel E. Bowker who told us that Willem Defoe is just too hung for a lars von Trier movie. It was then over to Jakir Hussen and the spirit of eugenics in feline form. Hot on Jakir’s heels was Gracie Battson, the most adorable, middle aged Gen Z. The afternoon’s penultimate act was Mossy, aka George Galloway’s stunt double. Closing the show was the fabulous Barbara Fernandez (pictured) with 20 minutes of musical mayhem comedy. From weird uncles to zoom therapy, suffocating exes and Liza’s cabaret like you’d never heard, Barbara had the room singing and clapping along whilst also keeping them in hysterics.
So that was Sunday afternoon at The Star and it was a fun show. Headlining next Sunday we’ve G&B’s reigning All Star Queen, the utterly brilliant Sallyann Fellowes.
