It was an intimate yet very fun show at The Star of Kings yesterday – beginning with Godfrey Mercado (pictured), who doesn’t get misgendered – just mis-‘Asian’ed. Next up was Tony Carr, who was offered a juicy role in a porn flick for £150 – now he just needs to raise the money. Mo Khan then said he’s really got a handle on how to express British culture…thanks to TV’s Super Nanny. Next up was Phil Blunt (aka @philcatchpole) who, when faced with the US immigration question ‘have you considered terrorism or genocide’ wasn’t sure what to answer – as they might be recruiting. We then had Stingo Murphy. Stingo has perfected his recipe for dry martinis, thanks to those cans of dehydrated water. Closing our first half was the fabulous Adam Dorr. Adam, being raised Catholic, had only one end game to look forward to: the Rapture. Fresh from a breakup, Adam says his ex took his virginity, and he took her literally.
Our second half opened with Nick Bain, who has recently acquired the gift of the sight – thanks to his new glasses – giving him heightened visibility when checking out other gents. @kierandee then described his life as bald, depressed, and sexually frustrated – and that’s just his mum. Gil Givens provided a secret ingredient for making sweet tea that you never knew you wanted – especially if it comes from your diabetic wife – before Tony Matthews appeared on stage as the Dalai Llama’s twin brother: the black sheep of the family. Following Tony was DJ (aka @digvijayrana) who did more drugs than subjects at school, which prepared him perfectly for his job in supply and demand. Closing the show was the wonderful Georgia Thorp. Georgia came dressed for the occasion, in the official lesbian uniform, sponsored by Mountain Warehouse. Georgia is her wife’s wheelchair pusher, which it turns out is like being a drug pusher, but on a lower income.
So that was our show! Join us next Sunday at The Star of Kings with the simply hilarious Stanislav Gunko and the glitzy fabulousness of the wonderfully funny Amber Phillips.
